Picante Lentil Sauce

Today's recipe is for a hot picante lentil sauce.

Picante Lentil Sauce

1 (28 ounces) can crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup lentils, rinsed
2 medium onions, chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 fresh green chile, minced
1/2 cup medium-hot picante sauce

Combine the tomatoes, lentils, onions, garlic, sugar, cumin, chili, and picante sauce in a crockpot . Cover and cook on LOW until the lentils are tender, 6 to 8 hours.
